Datenna obtains EU funding for NLP

Industry Blogs

Last year Datenna successfully pitched a cross-border EU research project in which it is responsible for the natural language processing (NLP) research. Today, Datenna received confirmation that other EU partners will also move forward, which meant we can officially announce the EU funding for our research.

By performing this research, Datenna will expand its know-how on NLP and be able to extract more complex relationships from raw plain text. At the same time, our partners in this EU research project will be able to learn from applying our NLP experience in their technology and market domains.

The research project is part of ITEA 3. ITEA is a transnational and industry-driven research, development and innovation programme in the domain of software innovation. ITEA is a Cluster programme of EUREKA, an intergovernmental network involving over 40 countries globally. ITEA is the home of software innovation, enabling an international and knowledgeable community to collaborate in funded projects that turn innovative ideas into new businesses, jobs, economic growth and benefits for society.

Natural language processing

NLP is a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) concerned with the interactions between computers and human-generated (natural) languages, in particular how to program computers to process and analyse large amounts of natural language data. This will not only save time, but also allows for insights that were previously impossible to obtain.

We are super excited to get started and work together on this project with for instance Philips, Target Holding, PS-Tech and Eindhoven University of Technology.
