Xiaomi will unveil its own SoC soon

Xiaomi confirmed it is developing its own system-on-a-chip (SoC). The SoC will reportedly be named Pinecone and have eight Cortex-A53 cores. The company will introduce the SoC on February 28 at an event in Beijing. Chinese company China Electronics Corporation (CEC) announced to successfully have developed a high-density chip called CTC8096 (GoldenGate) for data transmission in telecommunication. Huawei invests in British chip designer XMOS

Earlier this week Huawei made its first equity investment in a UK technology company, namely in the Bristol-based semiconductor company XMOS. It did so together with Bosch and Xilinx, jointly raising $26 million.
