Chengdu unveils futuristic suspension railway

China has launched its first suspension railway. The futuristic trains went into trail-service at the end of November in Chengdu, Sichuan. Super E. coli bacteria for possible use in biofuels

Biofuel opportunity Chinese scientists have developed a novel way to create E. coli ‘super bacteria’, for possible use in biofuels. Basically, they sped up the evolution of Escherichia coli bacteria by inserting a special mutator protein into the bacteria, combined with repeatedly heating the bacteria samples to near death. SINAP and ORNL cooperate on salt-cooled reactors
